Account just got jacked

if you receive a message from a friend saying to join the steam community DO NOT LOG INTO IT.

Just jacked my steam account.

The message I got was from death.

Lame...

I think he got hacked and they tried to send it around, some were lucky to figure it out and change password before they got it. TomMy was one of the lucky ones.

I had intermittent communication with death and I was trying to help him get his account but they were having a login battle.. he was talking to me but sometimes I could tell it wasnt him.

Remember this: Steam [Support Staff] Will never ask you for your account information. If you are ever asked for your account information from a website it is always a scam. They will never contact you through steam friends, If you get contacted through friends it is a scam. As for steam community which is what happend for you, I would only use community through steam, but look at the url always. It should be https://steamcommunity.com/

EDIT: Delete death's old account from friends. It is hacked and probably will try to scam you for your account.

well it doesn't ask for acct. info, so it's kind of misleading.
